In the last month, the Corona Virus, Covid-19, has been sweeping through our Nation. The management team at Overlook Lakes wants to ensure that everyone in our community stays healthy and safe. Here are some tips on how you can protect yourself and the community from Covid-19.
Stay at home and practice Social Distancing. If you live alone, make sure to still keep in touch with family and friends. You can also take this time to clean your apartment and work on things you’ve been putting off. Disinfecting household surfaces and appliances are great ways to keep germs away and stay busy.
Even though you are home more, it is important for you to keep a daily routine. Maintain a healthy routine by going to bed and waking up on your usual schedule. Another way to stay on track is to eat meals around the same time each day. Trying new and healthy recipes will keep your immune system at tip-top shape; this will also give you a fun activity to do. Going out to the grocery store can be stressful right now, so minimize your trips to the store but don’t run out of healthy meal options. If you cannot get to the store, you can order groceries on-line. Sendiks, and Kroger both have online shopping services for pickup, or google “instacart”, or “peapod” for delivery.
On a positive note, Overlook Lakes offers wonderful walking with paved sidewalks in a serene and quiet setting. Staying at home is most important but getting outside in fresh air is important too. Take a stroll down the Root River Parkway as an activity. Continue to practice 6-feet distancing from others, and when you return home, wash your hands for 20 seconds minimum with soap and water.
